KICKOFF: Mayo Rec Soccer Signups Open for 2026 Season; Coaches and Sponsors Needed

MAYO, Fla. — It is time to lace up those cleats! Mayo Rec Soccer is gearing up for its 13th year of youth athletics in Lafayette County, and registration is officially open for the upcoming season.

Organizers are calling for all interested players, coaches, and local business sponsors to get involved before the January deadlines.

Player Registration Information

The league is open to children in grades Pre-K through 8th (children must be 4 years old by February 1, 2026).

Parents have two options to register their athletes:

1. Online Registration (Now – Dec. 31, 2025) Online forms and payments are currently open. This is the most convenient way to secure a spot before the New Year.

2. In-Person Registration (Jan. 2 & 3, 2026) For those preferring to sign up in person, registration will be held at the Edward Perry Sports Complex at the Soccer Concession Stand.

Friday, Jan. 2: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 3: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Cost:

Registration Fee: $75 per child.
Includes: Jersey, shorts, and socks.
Optional: $15 snack fee for 5 games.
Payment Methods: Checks (payable to Mayo Soccer Rec) or Cash App ($MayoSoccerRec).

Call for Coaches

A successful season relies on community volunteers. Mayo Rec Soccer has issued an urgent call for coaches for all grade levels. If you have a passion for the game and want to help teach teamwork and sportsmanship to local youth, please contact the league immediately.

Local Business Sponsorships Available

Local businesses are invited to support the program through sponsorship. Contributions help fund new equipment and necessities for the season.

Jersey Sponsorship: $100 (Business name on a team's jersey).
Full Color Banner: $150 (Displayed on the fence during games).
Renewal Banner: $60 (For existing sponsors).

Sponsorship Deadline: All applications and payments are due by January 2, 2026. Forms can be mailed to Denise Rutherford at 2189 NE Thalia Rd, Mayo, FL 32066.
