MAYO, FL —The dry weather is causing a lot of trouble for our neck of the woods. Several large wildfires have popped up across Lafayette County, keeping our local firefighters very busy. With the ground so dry and the wind picking up, these fires are moving fast through the timber and brush. Families in Mayo and the southern parts of the county are seeing plenty of smoke as crews work around the clock to get these flames under control.
